Our Sunday at the Hearn-Tonning Church

Well you guys said that I had to write something so here goes – though I guess Nicole has already taken away all my thunder on that comment of her’s ;) JK

The Wednesday before two Sundays ago we found out that the Hearns were having the Grams over to their Church, it also happened to be the only time in awhile that we would be able to miss a Sunday at our church because we are in the bell choir. It also turned out to be at a time when we were on the tail end of a cold. That posed a problem because If you know anything about the Histroy of the Hearn-LeMaster relationship you will know that we seem to be able to do everything BUT keep each other well.

First it was when we went over to the Hearns for Sat-Sunday to go to their church, that night we all (LeMasters) woke up in the middle of the night throwing up on each other, copying the example of the Hearns earlier that week. Needless to say we did not get to go to their church that morning and actually ended up staying Sunday night and going home monday because we were so sick.

Then when the Hearns came down to our house for Nicole to take a CLEP test at the Masters College they managed to catch Whooping Cough from us. Which ended up with Nicole living at their grandparents for 3 weeks with Mallory so that she wouldn’t catch it.

Because of all that Mom was extremely wary of doing anything with the Hearns when either of us and anything even remotely akin to a sickness.
We finally convinced Mom that if we we were a lot better by the end of the week, we could go. We also accepted the Dennisons invitation to go with us, (yes they did invite them selves, yes I did second the motion :) .

It turned out that Friday and Saturday it got REALLY cold and the Hearns got snow. We were really excited that we might be able to go up there and on top of that have snow because we haven’t been to the snow for a couple of years at least.

Well mid day Saturday we, I mean mom, decided that it would be ok for us to go to the Hearns after all. We left around 6AM and ended up at the Dennisons around 6:30 then made it to the Hearns’s around 8 I believe.
On the way we stopped at a Mc Donalds for a bathroom break and when we got out there was ice all over the road and parking lot!(I almost slipped getting out). There was a fair bit of snow (around 1-4 inches) most of the drive to Hesperia but by the time that we got there there was hardly anything left.

We talked for about two hrs at the Hearns then left for the Tonnings (Church). We got there about 1 minute early and saw that the Grams were already there.

After church we had a great time talking and playing games out side, Capture The Flag and American Eaglet (Not American Eagle :) . We then came inside and played a number of games among them being Musical Chairs and Circle Dot Line. We had a blast.

That night we went with the Hearns back to their house then drove home.

We had a wonderful time with the Hearns, Tonnings, Grams, and Dennisons.
It is such a blessing to be around fellow christians who care about each other and God enough to dress modestly, and by their actions truly encourage each other, and walk in the footsteps of their savior in so many ways. Thank you guys.

I hope that we can get out there more often, I throughly enjoyed the time that we spent there and can’t wait for Sac and the camping trip that we are planning on (hopefully) doing with the Hearns. I have a few video clips that I pulled off the Hearn’s video camera before we left, I’ll post them here (I believe that my mom took them) anyway, here they are. You might want to download them first to your drive before viewing them, let me know if you have any trouble.

Ok, I have to add below here the “ghost written” post By Nicole. :-D

Thanks for coming on Sunday!
You should do a post about how much fun it was! And how absolutely freezing cold! And how I always faithfully defended the flag! And about how good the tamale pie was! And how we managed to fit all of those people into one room! And how I had to sit practically on top of all those airplanes on the way home! And how we made the plans….and how for the first time ever our families are actually going to a conference “together” in every way!!!!
Whoops! Looks like I just ghostwrote your post for you! ;) – Hmm, I guess I’ll just have to post it then ;)
