32+ dead, mass shooting, Virginia Tech.

7:15am this morning, as many as 40 students wounded, more than 20 of them dead.
There were two shootings at opposite ends of the campus at Virginia Tech University. Police say that they think that there was only one gunman, but then they also say that there is no reason that the two incidents are related!
Others are asking how the gunman, wearing a vest with multiple magazines tied to it was able to get in the camp, what about the weapon laws? Well folks, I got news for you. One little un-armed security guard is hardly a speed-bump for someone who is intent upon evil. If just one person had a gun on him, this would of ended real quick. Unfortunately, as always happens with gun control, the honest, people obeyed the law, and suffered, while those bent upon doing wrong, just found that the law made it easer for them.

It’s not the law-abiding citizens that will kill innocent people with the guns, it is the criminals. If you make a law restricting guns, then those who obey the law will not have them, those who don’t care about the law will. Please don’t ever try to convince me of your nonsense about how our businesses and schools are safer because we ban weapons. Maybe someday, people will wake up and see the light!

*Edit* now it is at least 32 students dead. We can thank the gun-control activists for this!

Here is a article about HB 1572 which would of allowed students to carry guns on campus. It was defeated and the VT spokesperson said, “I’m sure the university community is appreciative of the General Assembly’s actions because this will help parents, students, faculty and visitors feel safe on our campus.”
oh, yeah, safe!

What a mess. I just got out of PolySci class and we briefly talked about this. We couldn’t have a very indepth discussion, though, because there’s no wireless internet in our classroom *scowl* and there were only a couple people that had read anything about it. A number of people in the class had not even heard about the shooting since most everyone had already left for school by the time it occurred.
As you probably know, I have very strong opinions on this topic… I’ll probably post about it later. I’m actually going to go upstairs (I’m in the library) to see if I can find my friend and start yet another debate, using this as an example.
