Back from Alaska!!

We just got back from our trip about an hour and a half ago. God has been so good to us. Almost 9,000 miles and more than a month and no serious problems.
One chicken and a fish has died, to be expected.

I got home knowing that I was home, but not feeling it. It was not until I walked into my desk-area that it hit me. I am HOME! It feels so good to be back, all the hours that I have spent here, having two screens to work on, good speakers, the organization, having everything right where I know where it is, without having to spend 10 minutes finding it… All those things are just the beginning. As I stop and reflect on what the Lord has done, I can see His marvelous grace and mercy that He has bestowed on me day after day.

Being able to spend part of a week with the Hearns along with everyone else in Sac was wonderful and a absolute perfect ending for this trip.

Right now I am just overwhelmed with the Lord’s goodness to me and how little I deserve it…

Right now, my computer just started playing a beautiful orchestral arrangement of “When we see Christ” It almost brings tears to my eyes. The song is one that the student choir sings every year in the closing session and it is a perfect reminder as I write this…

Yes, it will be worth it all.. When we see Christ. Though at times, things might seem hard, it seems that we do not realize how much we have, we cry that a little milk is spilled with we have four more gallons in the fridge and money in the pocket for a thousand more.

Thank you Lord for this week, and for the wonderful friends that you have given to us, to encourage us and bring reminders and blessing.

We tandemed with the Hearns and stopped and ate lunch along the way. Rachael, and Kathleen Thomas drove down with us and will be spending the night here before they go on to see more friends after church tomorrow. Annie has done a wonderful job keeping order while we were gone.

I will see about getting the rest of the pictures up soon. I have one week and then Matthew and I are teaching a CI in Simi and the Blakes are coming down to spend the week with us. After that, Lord willing, I will be starting A&P school!

Blessings on you all!

Very good reflective post. :-)

It must be wonderful to be back home after being on-the-go and basically living out of the van for the last 1.5 months.

I am hoping to put up some of the pictures we got… but I’m sooo tired right now… it’s definitely not going to be this evening. I forgot to copy the pics from your camera before you guys left. (and you didn’t get any from our cameras either) So could we do a picture-swap when we next have an opportunity?

Welcome Back! It’s been good to read your updates and see the pictures. Thanks!
