Hacienda Heights
We are back from the Hacienda Heights CI.
Matthew and I worked the CI this year, it was a great time. I had a lot of fun and it was neat to get to know the Dortignacs and others better.
The week was crazy for me as I had the last week of the summer semester of A&P school at Van Nuys Airport in addition to the normal late nights and hectic schedules of the CI. I was at Van Nuys at 8:30 in the morning then was able to get off at 2pm most days and make it back to Hacienda by 3:30. In all I put more than 600miles on my car last week, most of that was in LA traffic!
The first night I stayed at the Gramms along with Matthew and the Hubbards but after finding that they lived about 2&1/2 hours (in morning traffic) from Van Nuys, I spent Tuesday night at the Westons which I discovered still required almost 2 hours of driving. I then spent Wed and Thurs night at the Dortignacs which worked out to a little more than an hour of driving, quite doable! Friday night as I did not have school in the morning, I spent back at the Gramms along with the Medinas. Tim continued the tradition of surprising everyone in the middle of the night with icecream and so we had a midnight party with the Westons, Justin, and the Discus and M-Vs.
I am still quite tired, but all in all we have a awesome time!
Hopefully we can do it again next year (and hopefully I won’t have school ☺ )!
I’ll have pictures soon!
