Some more updates, the fire north of us (blowing our way) seems, for the time being to be well under control.
To the South West, another large blaze has started and is really cooking.

So we are safe for now, but until the winds die down and the fires get contained, there is not enough manpower so anything could happen.
San Diego and the Arrowhead area is where most of the danger is right now. At one time, the fire-chief in San Diego said that there were more houses burning than he had men to handle.
Arrowhead is high elevation and VERY windy so aircraft are not able to assist.
For those two locations, not a good situation.
*edit* more than 500 homes and 100 business in san Diego burned so far and things are not looking any better down there.
