Thanksgiving weekend.
I realized that I wrote this but never posted it, well better late than never!

Wednesday was the last day of school for the week. In the morning class we had, one of the hardest tests of general, the hardware test. I got a 90, I’m happy. There was a LOT to memorize.
Thursday we went down to Mom’s sister’s house (the Hutchinsons) in Long Beach for thanksgiving, along with our grandparents. A family who are friends with the Hutchinsons also spent the day with us. We got back to our house late and I got in bed a little after 2AM. Friday we slept in a bit and then finished up various projects that we had around the house. Saturday was a frenzy to get all the projects and chores that we didn’t finish on Friday done before the Hearns got here in the morning.
Currently Nicole is in Maine right now with the Dennisons at a linguistics conference helping take care of Rachael, so she was not able to come, but the rest of the Hearn family showed up. After a little bit we ate lunch and then headed out to Operation Christmas Child where we would be volunteering along with other friends that were coming from various locations, about 40 people total. We had a fun time there, and it was good to see friends that we don’t regularly get together with. Mrs. Hearn stayed back with the little kids, and decided to have an adventure by going to the pet store… well, that is not the entire story, but you’ll have to ask her for more ☺
Driving in the car back, we started watching Time Changer and we finished it up when we got home. I was very tired and attempted to get to bed around midnight, but some of my brothers (guilty names withheld for confidentiality, you can guess
) decided to lock Jay outside, among other strange flashlight games, most of which I am not even certain what went on, since I was right on the verge of sleep, but not quite there.
Sunday morning the Hearns went to church with us. I think that Jay found the video stuff that we are doing neat. ☺
After church we spent some time talking and then went down to the park to play some soccer. It was not a particularly competitive game but we had a lot of fun (we probably spent more time talking than playing). The adults stayed home and talked, we decided to head home when it was almost dark. Walking back, talking, strategizing ways to get into the house (it was getting cold, and the little ones needed to get inside) and yet not disturb the parents, because we knew that once we were all back it would be time for the Hearns to go. Some of the most blessed times that I have had in a long time…
Sure enough after we got back inside, it was soon time for the Hearns to leave. I am not sure what it was about this time, but the Lord really blessed me through the Hearns..
God has been so good to me in giving me such good friends! Thank you Hearns! May we be able to get together again soon!
I’m glad you got a good grade on your test, and it sounds like you guys had a great time with the Hearns!
