How am I doing?

Well I guess I have fallen back into my traditional style of leaving you all hanging as to how I am doing. Sorry, though, I guess I have a little excuse because I haven’t been really able to type till recently.

Things have gone well, the surgery went off without any trouble. I had a nerve block for the start which was effective through the first day, so my arm was numb and I couldn’t move it. So far I have been taking the pain meds on a as-needed basis which means that right now I am not taking hardly any. I have one ibuprofen in me but that is all.

The biggest annoyance is trying to do everything left handedly and dealing with this big lump that my arm + sling + foam-position block make.

Thanks for all your prayers. God has been good!

Picture: (that blue tube coming out of the grey foam insulation is an icepack that I am hooked up to.)

I just showed this post/picture to Mom & the girls. The resulting comments made me laugh…

H: “Poor Nathan is *always* getting hurt.”
E: “Well, then he should just live in a glass cage.”
H: “That wouldn’t suit Nathan!”

They would like to know if you have to sleep sitting up, and how long you will have to keep your arm in the sling.

I’m glad to hear that there weren’t complications during (or after) the surgery. When will you be going back to school?

LOL! :) I am *supposed* to sleep with my head elevated, it sorta works. Sleeping hasn’t really been a problem though.

Is the “E” Elizabeth or Esther? And no, I wouldn’t like living in a glass cage. :)

I will probably go back to school next week as I am finished with general classes and that is when airframe is starting some new projects. In the time being I have a lot of schoolwork to get done. :)

Wow… you look like something… out of a movie. Like, the full ice-pack apparatus and everything. Wow. You look a little… tired. or, unprepared for the picture. :D Sorry, I’m mean. :D

That ^ was me… but you already knew that.

hehe.

Yeah, I took that with the camera on my laptop when there wasn’t very good lighting. I was pretty tired.

It was Elizabeth.

I’m glad that your shoulder isn’t preventing you from resting. I didn’t care much about sleep when I was younger, since I always had to go to bed before I was tired… but now I realize the fact that sleep is a blessing from God!

Speaking of lots of schoolwork… I’m returning to the pages of stuff I must have memorized by tomorrow!

BTW, Jay… when my brother got home today, (he was playing football & ultimate frisbee with some of our friends) he reported that he “met a super-tall, skinny guy that looked exactly like Jay–even had the same face!”

So THAT’s what Jay was doing when he sneaked out last night and mumbled something about Northern California.

Just kidding.

Hope you feel much better soon, Nathan.
